Rise of the Phoenix

*In The Secret Back Pathways: Pandora Headquarters*

Tara: Soooo….We were told to work out these files….but not leave that room….Do you think Alastair will praise us for this, then kill us? Or kill us, then praise us at our funerals?

Nadia: T realy!!!! Well…. I can see both  TT.TT
We have a while to get to the archives - it’s two floors from where are now. It’s a good thing the emergency lights are just about running.  It’s a little unstable ahead so watch out -
WAAA!!! *trips*

Tara: Watch that floor. It’s deceptively flat.

Nadia +.+ Fuck yoooooooooou!!!!!!

Tara: Later, dear. Anyway, joking aside, this book we’re going to find, the one that was mentioned in that decoded message. What exactly was it about that it could help….whoever the person was on about learn about the mundane and mystic?

Nadia: *Glare* Like I said before, I only went so far; when I was a rookie, I was beginning to get obsessed with it.
One of the higher ups told me not to read deep into ‘things,’ you see- several agents went and lost there mind trying to decode it.
The book, from what I can gather, used to be a catalogue or something. Part of several books. But every once in awhile it references a greater evil/ war of some kind. I thought nothing of it until now.

Tara: Oh, we should be ok then, we lost our minds years ago. Haha!

Nadia: Speak for yourself, sister!!!!

Tara: Eh, sanity’s overrated. But anyway, if it’s got that much info in it that it caused people to lose their minds figuring it out, not to mention that passage from before…..the writer must really love the person they did that book for, don’t you think?

Nadia: ture, but think about it like this considering it was written in the Dynuno Koubu i think it may have been written for a god by a god. So in theory it would may sense for ‘mundane’ beings like us to not completely comprehend.

Tara: I guess so. Our poor fragile minds and all that jazz. Still, just think about it once it is decoded. I mean, the agents could learn, like, tons of stuff about the mystic world that none of us knew before. Though….yeesh, think of what might happen if these buggers blowing up the place might do with it?

Nadia: exactly, that’s the reason why we need to get there before that happens. But still I’m a little afraid that book… i think it contains something powerful or at least parts of something powerful.

Tara: Uh….powerful? Like….blow up the world, powerful, or summon all of hell powerful, or....?

Nadia: both… i think throughout the book there were designs and models for prototypes. I remember there was a spell and a warning written on it too, but I can’t quite remember what, though. It was too complicated, so I ended up skipping it without completely translating the whole thing.

Tara: Well, I guess that we might have to work on that bit too. Uh….Assuming we get to it in one piece and everything. I’ve not heard anything for a while...do you think that Alastair and ??? are alright?

Nadia: have you seen them fight? They’re fine together. They fight like they’re ten men.
By the way, turn this way. It’s a half mile walk to the first floor. God this place is huge -.-’

Tara:What do you expect, this place was made when bigger was better. Think you’ll be alright with that leg of yours? Eh….sorry, I guess I’m a bit of a worry wort, but you gotta tell me if you’re struggling - you’re the only one out of the two of us that even knows where that book is.

Nadia: it’s fine, I faced much worse when I was a field agent. Plus, it’s only a flesh wou…

*Distant voices*

Voice: So where’s that damn book. I want it now!!!

Voice: Yes Ma’am!

Voice: Blow this place to smithereens if you have to, just get it to me! We need to bring it back to Phoenix, asap.

Nadia: Damn, so it’s a race between us and Phoenix after all.

Tara: You concentrate on the book. If we need it, I’ll run interference. But either way, we can’t screw around about this. Alastair and ??? are counting on us

Nadia: I know…. Ok then i guess we’ll need this. *Opens bag and pulls out two hover boards* And to think, I was going to throw these out. They’re a little dated, but they’ll get us to the next level a lot quicker.

Tara: Dated Smated, let’s go!

Everything Going to Go BOOOOM!

*Power goes out, banging noises*

Tara: What the hell is…

Alastair: Shh!

*All hold there breath, Alastair unsheathes his gun*

*tap tap, door opens slowly*

???: Is every on alright in there Tara, Nadia, ali?

Alastair: We’re ok.

Nadia: Speak for yourself, we’re having minor heart attacks.

Tara:  What happened out there?

???: we had a breech, nothing for you two to worry about. Ali, we need to check out the subbasement.

Alastair: Shh!

???: Girls check this out for me - use your communicators instead of the computers and until the power comes on, don’t open this door. Got it?

*??? Hands both a file, and winks.*

Both: yes sir!

Alastair: Board up the door. I’ll contact you when it’s safe.

*Both Alastair and ??? leave*

*Tara and Nadia look at each other*

Tara: …why do I get the feeling that this is going to take a while….?

Nadia: That’s coz it is, take a look at this.

*Both look at file*

Tara: Great… it’s another code…. Can you decipher it?

Nadia: Yea, just about, but its so dark in here, I can barely make it out. Hey, hold up the communicator for me, I’ll use it as a flashlight.

Tara: Ok, I’ll type it up for you as you translate it.

*translation*

It is not something I suspected I would need to do, but she rarely asks things from me. Considering it is for his sake…I could not refuse such a request. If it will help you, then I would do anything.

I write this for you, my love, so that you may be prepared as you step out into the world. I know I cannot always be by your side. However, if I can educate you in the mystic and mundane world, then I know you will use this information wisely. Hold this close, and let it serve you well.

Both: *blush!!!!!*

Nadia: I feel like im reading a love letter, n awwww I know the situation but awwww!!!!

Tara: I wonder what it is that the person was referring to, you know, to help ‘educate’ whoever it is in the ‘mystic and mundane world’. A book of some kind? It feels like there’s bits missing.

Nadia: You’re right. Wait a minute, he couldn’t referent to……

Tara: To…? To…what?

Nadia:  Hold on a minute, I’ll bring it up. I first saw it in the archives when I was a new recruit.  I can’t remember the name, but it was kind of like a catalogue of monsters, but it also had weird cyphers. I remember trying to crack them for a joke with some of the CUC to pass the time, but I didn’t think much of it.

Tara: Do you think that it will reveal something if we manage to crack the codes?

Nadia: Yeah, let go to the vents - the archives are just a floor below this room.

Tara: How? Apart from this room, the whole building’s on lock down.

Nadia: Through the hidden corridor. When this place was first built, they created the back paths for emergencies like this

Tara: Ok lets go-

*Explosion!!!! Room fills with smoke*

Tara: You ok?

Nadia: I think I hurt my knee *cough, cough* lets get out of here. Quick, grab the case files ‘n our bags, I’ll get the data chips. Quickly, before this room fill up any more.

Tara: Got them, now which way?

Nadia: Though here. Lets go already!

Tara: Ok!

Intercepted Message: Code Name: Phoenix

Nadia: Ok, here it is.

Alastair: Show me. Luckily, we isolated the hacking - apparently our science department decided to become hackers for the day. They’re testing out a new security system.

Tara: I see. You had us worried for a moment… but anyway about the message, it seems that there are some passages missing from it… I think it’s fine on its own for now, but we may need to revise it later.

Nadia: Alright, I’ll bring it up on the monitor.

*All look at screen*

-enix, is an ancient organisation *large chapter still translated*….. they’re dangerous. Beware, the are relentless, it seems that they’re gathering an army for some reason. I’ve deployed a dozen field agents to go undercover to investigate and keep an eye for more suspicious activity. For now, we will lay low. We’ll keep in contact.

Also I have received word that one of our special force teams is beginning to take shape. Both the combat and mystic specialists have begun to work with each other.

It seems that they are like water and oil, but in time I believe that they will be one of our greatest fighting forces.
*This part is cut off*

Just a word of warning, Phoenix seems to be making contact with known allies of ours. Be warned, it’s possible they may have some connections, if they haven’t already infiltrated us. Be careful who to trust for now.

Tara: It seems to cut off there.

Alastair:…

Nadia: So, what are you thinking of, boss?

Alastair: I need to contact Madame Povéll. This is escalating too quickly for my liking…

Nadia: No shit

Tara: So what do you want us to do?

Alastair: Screen all our agents, and everyone we’re partnered with. Get as much information as you can. Anyone remotely suspicions, put a red mark across their name and send them back to me. We need to be one step ahead…

*Power goes out, banging noises*

Tara: What the hell is…

Alastair: Shh!

*All hold there breath, Alastair unsheathes his gun*

Thursday 21 April 2016

Getting back into the swing of things.

Tara: Ugh…..I’m still in con mode. It’s hard getting back to work again

Nadia: Maybe we can bunk- *wacked on back of head by Alastair* Ow!

Alastair Joubert: I believe you have a job to do.

Tara: Bugger.

Nadia: Fine!!!!

Alastair Joubert: We found another coded message – start translating.

Tara: Hm…It might take us a little bit…we should have it done by Saturday.

Nadia: Lastest. Its a long one, plus last time I decoded a message, a word kept coming up

Alastair Joubert: What word?

Nadia: Phoenix, sir

Alastair Joubert:….. I’ll look into it. Just translate the manuscript and then report back to me.

Tara: Geez…this is getting annoying…There’s so much to do, but not enough at the same time. How’s that even work?

Nadia: I know, but it feels like there’s…..

*monitor noise*

Both: Not again?!

Tara: Quickly turn off the system now!!!!

Sunday 17 April 2016

OMG! HES BACK!!!!!!

Nadia: Ok not bad, but…. Why is it so dead up in this piece

Tara: Your going ghetto again~

???: It’s a smaller con duh...?

Nadia: YOU!!!

???: With larger cons, you get more traffic coming in, plus it’s the position and placement of the “Comic Village,” you’re on the top floor with most of the real actions down stairs.

???: Plus it’s not like it’s completely ‘dead’, people are coming up to you, you guys just aren’t giving us a good enough Sales pitch. Come on, sell it like you mean it!

Nadia: Instead of blabbing, why don’t you buy something. +.+

???: Oh dear, look at the time, I gotta go, see you soon!

Tara:  I think he was trying to encourage us ^.6

Nadia: yea, yea.
