True Believers and Dreamwalkers

Hello World! Tara from Tanra Studios here! Sorry about out technical difficulties last time. However, it's all sorted now and we'll be back to posting on our usual days. That aside, today, we've got a couple of things to be talking about.

But first, to the most important stuff! I have an announcement to make! Nadia and I will be heading off to a convention!

Technical Difficulties!

Sorry, this isn't a proper update. We've been having a few technical difficulties over here - we're still trying to catch *BEEP* at the moment, you see. However, as soon as we've caught the *BEEP*, we'll be back with our regularly scheduled updates. We should be good to go tomorrow, so you wont have long to wait.

???: Better hurry up and catch me then!

See you guys really soon! Now get back here *BEEP* and put that buzzer down already! Oh! Thank goodness! We finally got him - good job, Nadia! Now, ???, what do you have to say for yourself?

???: I was only having a bit of fun....It wasn't like I meant to cause all this death and destruction....honest!

Us: ...

???: *grin*

Us: GO FIX IT!

???: Awwwww....

Us: Anyway, now that we have finally got the buzzer back and have ??? fixing up the mess, we'll be able to get our usual Saturday post up tomorrow, so look forwards to it! :)

The Agents

 

Hello world! It's both Nadia and Tara from TanraStudios here! Today, we're going to be chatting to you guys about the team that the story Pandora follows the adventures of. Beginning as in in training team, under the supervision of Violet herself, the team consists of Rodessa, Mizuki and *BEEP*

 

Tara: Wait....what? *BEEP* ......I can't say *BEEP*'s name for some reason....

 

Nadia: For #$*@# sake, *BEEP*, will you quit *BEEP* - Oh come on, that wasn't even a swear word!

 

???: Tee hee!

 

Tara: Oh never mind. It seems that the last member of the team doesn't want to be mentioned yet. They just have to be mysterious....Aaaaaaanyway, since the last person is bleeping out any info on them, we'll just be talking about the main agents of this team today - Rodessa and Mizuki.

 

Nadia: Well, let's pull out Rodessa's file....*sigh* A lot of this is classified right now, but from what I can say, Rodessa Hunter is an Arms Specialist - her main weapon of choice are twin pistols. At present, she's the least attuned to the Supernatural, but her flexibility and adaptability make up for it. Though she has little to no magical ability, she compensates with physical strength.

 

Tara: Our second agent, Mizuki Masuyo, from her file, is also mostly classified, but what I can clearly talk about is that she's a blade specialist with additional spiritual energy. Her weapon of choice is a katana and talismans. Out of the two of them, Mizuki has the most supernatural experience. Very agile, Mizuki is capable of dodging many attacks, be they from the physical or mystical side of the world. However, she does have less defence against physical attacks if her speed, agility and spiritual energy is overcome.

 

We would mention more, but the person who wants to be a mysterious presence keeps hovering around with a bleep button.

 

Nadia: So, we'll be signing out here, so we can deal with a certain *BEEP* - OK THAT'S IT! COME HERE YOU!!!

 

???: Mwahahaha - oh crap!

Pandora: The Organisation

 

Hi World! Tara from TanraStudios here and today, we’ll be talking about Pandora, the agency that the comic is based around.

 

Pandora is an organization that was created by the Pouvéll House, with the purpose of dealing with supernatural threats, and helping to prevent widespread panic.

 

The CEO of the group is Lady Violet Pouvéll, with others in her employ:

 

Firstly her butler, who deals with business on Violet’s behalf, next is Yin Huxian, who acts as field supervisor for some of the teams.

 

The Organization itself has three main sections: The first are the field agents they go deal with supernatural threats.

 

The second section is the research and development group. They make the gadgets that agents might use, other similar things top help to either better understand the supernatural world or to provide equipment to aid the Agents against such encounters.

 

The last section is known as the CUC (Clean Up Crew) These agents deal with the aftermath of the missions done by agents, making areas safe for humans, and crowd control due to the supernatural encounters.

 

Of course, there is still a lot about Pandora that could be shared, but...

 

Well, that’s what the comic is for, right?

 

Damn right! Besides if we told toy more we’d have to ‘silence’ you for good if you know what I’m saying… Sorry I’m jumping on this post with just a quick update and what we have in store.

 

As we mentioned before there are going to be codas and cyphers. On our site currently I’m in the process of decrypting the, ‘Dynuno Koubu’ or Language of the Gods. I found it recently and I should be dun with it pretty soon in the next few weeks or so been on the look out for that. PEACE!

All Hail The Director!

Hello world! It's Tara again from Tanrastudios and today, rather than making you read my waffle for the entire blog, I'll be introducing you all to the co-founder of Tanrastudios and our director, Nadia Williams, without whom I wouldn't have been able to create our studio.

So, for today, I'll be handing the reigns over to Nadia so that she can introduce herself, so give a big warm welcome!

Sup world! My name is Nadia Williams or TheEternalBlackRose as I’m know on DeviantArt. I’m the Co-founder of TanraStudios and also it's director. From time to time I’ll be on here giving updates on the Pandora progress.

Currently, I’ve been designing our Website that should be live by the end of February (if all goes well.)

Right now I’m working on finishing the first volume of Pandora the joint comic between Tara and myself. I’m join to be cheeky and give you guys a preview of what to expect.

The World of Tanra

Hello World! Tara again from Tanra Studios and today, I’ll be chatting about the world of Tanra. And when I say that, I don’t mean about what Nadia and I have been up to, but rather the universe that the comics under our name exist in. It’s not something that needs a map, of course, as the world our comics are based in are based in a world similar to ours, just with added supernatural and mythical elements, which are explained in the individual stories (or when we give an in-depth summery of our comics here on the blog). There are a few little fun facts to explain though.

 

Similar to some comics created under a studio name or done by the same author, the comics that we create all exist within this same universe, though at different periods of time in some cases. Now, you don’t have to read every single comic created for any of the others to make sense, but this does mean that there are occasional references or cameo appearances within other comics created under our name.

One thing that you might also find is the occasional code hidden within the comics. These codes can be translated on the website, when it is finished in February), to give you hints or little secrets. Again, it shouldn’t effect the general story of any comics we create, but it is a little bit of fun for everyone involved.

Our Story Thus Far...

Hello world! This is Tara Washington from Tanra Studios. Today, I’ll be talking about how our studio came to be.

It’s a funny story. We had been attending a convention a few years ago with a friend of ours from University, Michaela, but our costumes we were wearing weren’t particularly matching anything. On the fly, the three of us joked about us being part of a supernatural agency, if anyone asked who we were dressed as. This joke about our cosplay outfits was actually the original spark that inspired Nadia and I to come up with the idea for Pandora. As we fleshed out the story past ‘That outfit belongs to a Miko and that one is an FBI agent’, the two of us enjoyed the idea that much that we decided to join forces to create a little studio together in order to bring Pandora and our many other ideas to life.

We came up with the studio name by combining parts of our names together, and came up with the original concepts for our logo. While our logo is different from that original one at this point, we kept the Wolf and Fox motif that we had originally – our favourite animals together to represent us, with mine being the fox, and Nadia’s being the Wolf.
 

While we worked on this, we came up with a few short stories until we had a good basis on Pandora, with Nadia creating Unbound, and I created Susanoo, along with merchandise that can be found on our individual DA accounts (under EternalBlackRose and Chosha-Kurenai respectively). With these, we attended a convention and sold quite a few of them. Glad that our art was so liked, it inspired us further to create the story we really wanted to work with.
 

So, for the past year, now that we’ve had planning time to come up with a comic script and the time to get extra people to help us out in creating a new improved logo, to help us to create music for a trailer and more, Nadia started to work on the first volume, with the hopes that we will switch who is drawing at the end of each volume. Meanwhile, I began another story I had come up with a little earlier than Pandora, which was Dreamwalkers.
 

Which brings us to where we are now, with a website on the way, a Pandora trailer to be created very soon and two comics that will be ready for May, we’re all hoping to let everyone really enjoy our work!
 

Starting from next post, Myself and Nadia will be keeping you all up to date on what we’ve been up to, what’s been produced and how you all can come to see it.

Welcome to Tanra Studios!

Hello world! We are Tanra Studios, which is founded by Nadia Williams and myself, Tara Washington. Our studio focuses on creating manga styled comics, images and commission work, with various short comics under our belt. We also have two currently ongoing projects. These consist of our main project, Pandora, currently in the hands of the wonderful Nadia, and our other project, Dreamwalkers, which is in my hands. We also do loads of other things as well, with images and merch too!

On this blog, we hope to keep you up to date with everything that will be going on with our studio, from updates of our comics, to our website, and to when and where we’ll be popping up at conventions so you don’t miss any of the news!

Now, you might be wondering about our projects that I mentioned. So, here’s the info!

Pandora is about a supernatural detective agency, which fights against threats of a mystical nature that loom over humanity, while trying to prevent a greater darkness from enveloping the world. Its our main project, which we both write, but we switch who will be the artist drawing it. Nadia starts it off with the first two chapters, before it switches over to myself for two, and so on and so forth. We hope that you really like it!

Dreamwalkers is a side project that I’m doing when not working on Pandora. It’s about a young man named James Remington, who was suffering from strange, reoccurring nightmares that begin to become dangerously real, however, a mysterious group known as S.O.S seems to be the key to both the truth and a cure.

We’re hoping that you will enjoy everything we have to offer! We should be giving updates on our projects twice a week, Saturday and Tuesday, which will also include updates on our website we’re building, Pandora, Dreamwalkers and anything else that we’ve been doing. So watch this space!
